The Canberra Bowling Club specialises in fun Lawn Bowls and BBQ Functions, 'Barefoot Bowls on the Green'  (flat-soled shoes, or bare feet are required), ring 6295 2508 to book. The club also has excellent facilities available for use including a full kitchen, and bar facility that is second to none.

The cheap booking fee helps you keep your costs down. Social and full membership is available at a competitive rate. The Canberra Bowling Club is ideally situated for that quiet beer after a hard day, or that lunch-time drink to escape the humdrum of the office environment.

Bowling Sessions:

Mixed social lawn bowls are organised and played every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday except when special events such as championships, pennants, carnivals or sports days take precedence.

Tuesday, and Friday bowls start at 12:30 pm, names in by 11:30 am. Wednesday, and Saturday lawn bowls commence at 10:00 am all year; names in by 9:00 am. Thursday's session is 12 Ends, starts 10:00 am, everyone welcome at all sessions.

Sunday Bowls is a “Bowls ’n’ BBQ” event. Play commences at 10:00am, names in by 9:30am. Single entries or teams of triples. 

Dress rules: Women generally prefer uniform but, except for special events, neat casual clothing, (mufti), is most acceptable. The only firm requirement is for flat-soled shoes, bare feet are acceptable, or thongs in summer (Ugg Boots in the winter). Ring (02) 6174 3661 or email to to book for bowling sessions.

The club always welcomes new players. We have spare sets of bowls for the beginners to use and will show you how to play the game. But be careful, it can be addictive.
